PAYROLL SPECIALIST

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Payroll Specialist will collect and review employee information and working hours, calculating wages, preparing and processing employee payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.   

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting preferred or equivalent experience
  • ADP experience
  • CDK experience a plus
  • Professional appearance/disposition
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in excel
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Outstanding communication skills written and oral
  • Strong technical skills in accounting
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collecting timesheet data and payroll information.
  • Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and software programs.
  • Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, etc.
  • Preparing and processing paychecks and cash deposits.
  • Maintaining accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Preparing and distributing income statements.
  • Responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving concerns.
  • Performing account balance and payroll reconciliations.
  • Preparing financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
  • Preparing periodic payroll reports for review by management.
  • Coordinate the preparation of all information requested by CPA for annual audit and physical inventory to minimize costs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local financial regulations, including filling and/or maintaining of required forms, payroll taxes and deposits, income taxes, retirement plan records, etc.
